Located just off the busy Tkalciceva Street, this bar’s big terrace surrounded by trees and greenery has become a cult spot in Zagreb.
During the day Melin is like a regular coffee shop with its unique retro style & big terrace and at night it becomes a club with great live music sessions.
One of the interesting interior decorations is its bar, a total of 50 old trumpets were collected and then pressed with 120-ton press. The bars tables are actually old TV's from 1950s and some of them are even "acting" as shelves above the bar where they keep liquor.
Author's idea behind it is that it should exude the late 50s of the last century when in Zagreb there was only few television sets. That was the time when Radio-Television Zagreb was starting with its spectacular work programs under the leadership of Anton Marty, the legendary television and theater director.
However, Melin isn't different from other coffee shops only with its interior design and terrace, but also for a selection of music. In the evening you can find jazz lovers of all ages visiting this legendary place. They play music on the old turntables and sometimes guests even dance. Sometimes, spontaneously, people start to play music as well.
The bar is located just in Kozarska 19 street and more about the live music sets you can find on their page here.
