The Nutcracker – A Magnificent Christmas Tale

From 27th November 2016 till 26th February 2017, Museum of Arts and Crafts will be home of a exhibition of „The Nutcracker“. „The Nutcracker“ was originally created by Ernst Hoffman and was adapted by Marius Petipa from the text of Alexandre Dumas the elder. We at Lobagola think that this is unique exhibition that you should not miss.

For the first time costumes and scenery papers from premiere of The Nutcracker in 1892, in the ownership of the State Museum of St. Petersburg for Theatre and Music, will be presented outside of Russia’s borders. Foundation of Milan's Teatro alla Scala has enabled the costumes from "The Nutcracker" performed in 1968/69. The Staatsballett from Berlin lend artifacts from their production of The Nutcracker set in 2013. It is divided into several topics, the most important one is handcrafted wooden dolls collected from Zagreb private collections.

It is accompanied by an extensive catalog with a series of articles and a program of workshops and games to fashion shows and lectures.
