AnimaFest 2016

Festival of Animated Film – AnimaFest Zagreb

This year's Zagreb Animafest will be held from 6th-11th of June.

More than 150 acclaimed filmmakers and over 300 films covering almost all genres and animation techniques are coming to Croatia. Animafest Zagreb always has been, alongside festivals in Annecy, Ottawa and Hiroshima, a part of the obligatory circuit in the animation community’s calendar.

A festival made by the filmmakers for the filmmakers. Creative animation, in all its different forms – from traditional drawings, to stop motion, CGI, to most experimental cross-media explorations – has been the focus of attention since the very beginning.

This is a truly international festival: from renowned animation powerhouses like France, UK and Canada, to those that yet need to strengthen their position on the animation map of the world, like Singapore and Lebanon. The Animafest award-winners directly qualify for the European Cartoon d’Or Award, but are also included in the Oscar run – this year’s Oscar winner Bear Storylast year won Animafest’s Audience Award.

This year 46 films will be included in the short film competition, including titles by animation masters like Georges Schwizgebel (Switzerland), Phil Mulloy (UK), Igor Kovalyov (Russia) and Theodore Ushev (Canada) and many more...

A great festival with an incredible charm!
