Anna Karenina ballet in CNT in Zagreb

Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb has the honor to host ballet version to one of the most popular love stories ever written – Anna Karenina.

On Saturday, February 14, 2017 at 7.30 p.m. the popular ballet created after the novel of Leo Nikolayevich Tolstoy adapted by Valentina Turcu to the music of P.I. Tchaikovsky in the choreography of Leo Mujić is back on the repertoire of the CNT in Zagreb.

Although Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky often found inspiration in the works of classical Russian and international authors, he never composed any works based on Tolstoy. Authors of the Zagreb version of Anna Karenina – the choreographer Leo Mujić and the dramaturg Valentina Turcu – did just that. The romantic orchestral works by Tchaikovsky seemed like an ideal musical base for outlining the spiritual condition of the characters.

The next re-runs are scheduled for February 16 and 18, 2017.
